Emma Bippart-Butler

Residential Counselor

A student at Columbia University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts of Philosophy and Psychology, Emma comes to her position as a Mountain Valley Residential Counselor looking to give shape to her studies. Her program of study and research primarily focus on cross-disciplinary perspectives on the origins of moral reasoning, psychoeducation, and contemporary ethics. Prior to college, she served a year with Americorps’ education non-profit City Year as an academic and social emotional support for under-resourced schools and students. Her other volunteer experiences include teaching GED courses and leading a nutrition education program for those experiencing housing insecurity.

 In her time outside of work, Emma enjoys reading, pottery and walking her two dogs Vita and Martha.
