MVTC Collaborates with the Yale Child Study Center Program for Teen Anxiety Disorders
We are pleased to have welcomed Dr. Wendy Silverman, Ph.D., ABPP, Director of the Yale Child Study Center Program for Anxiety Disorders, and Dr. Eli Leibowitz, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at the Child Study Center, to Mountain Valley Treatment Center on November 6th. Drs. Silverman and Leibowitz toured our campus and provided training on comprehensive assessment of the behavioral components related to anxiety diagnoses, and use of the Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedule (ADIS-IV), to our clinical and admissions staff. We have been working with Drs. Silverman and Leibowitz since spring of 2014 on emerging issues in diagnosis, treatment and family accommodation of anxiety disorders, and their visit was part of an ongoing relationship between the two programs. We look forward to contributing data from MVTC to Yale’s ongoing research in the areas of assessment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents, and cognitive behavioral and parent-based treatment for childhood anxiety.
The partnership between Mountain Valley Treatment Center and the Yale Child Study Center is another example of our continued commitment to those we serve, as we strive to remain current in our knowledge of research related to adolescent anxiety, and cutting-edge in the treatment that we offer to our residents and their families.
