Dr. Golden worked in child welfare and community mental health settings before transitioning to clinical practice. She began working at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2014, where she served in a variety of roles. She assisted in writing several community based grants, implementing medical student led research on Trauma Informed Care, and creating a strong training program for social work, clinical counseling, and psychiatrics nurse practitioner students. From 2020 to 2023, she was Principal Investigator of a three-year Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) grant, serving as Executive Director. She maintained a clinical caseload throughout her time at SIU, earning certifications in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Dr. Golden was drawn to Mountain Valley’s evidence-based treatment, creative and holistic approaches, and beautiful natural setting. From the first visit, she could see how beautifully the interdisciplinary team worked together to provide each resident with the individualized care they need.
Dr. Golden is originally from southern IL. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and baking, and practicing yoga. Since moving to New England she has become obsessed with hiking. She loves all things sci fi!
