About Will
Will brings over thirty years of mental health and educational leadership experience to Mountain Valley, having served as the president of an international university with campuses in Tokyo and Osaka, the head of school and CEO for therapeutic boarding schools in North Carolina and New Hampshire, and the executive director of education for a group of five therapeutic schools in Idaho and California. He has founded and co-founded several companies, including a branding consultancy, a surf-themed international school in Costa Rica, and an international expedition-learning non-profit. Will’s work at Mountain Valley is an extension of his role as managing partner for Iron Mountain Visions, an incubation and management company for mental health and wellness ventures.
“It’s hard to imagine a more relevant mental-health mission today than addressing the youth anxiety epidemic,” says Will. “Mountain Valley engages this challenge with such expertise; I’m proud to be part of its evolution and growth.”
A fifth-generation native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Will stayed close to home for his education, earning degrees from U.C. Berkeley and Stanford University. Will’s wife, Beth Laughlin, is a fellow Stanford graduate and the founder/owner of 360 Transitions, a therapeutic aftercare provider for young people who have recently completed residential treatment. A former world-class athlete herself, Beth enjoys helping Will plan and execute his ultra-distance running adventures, which include record-setting runs across Costa Rica, Death Valley, and the Rocky Mountains. Having lived and adventured throughout the US and abroad, Will and Beth are happily settled in New Hampshire with their son Colton and his big brother, Liam the Dog.
