Senior Clinician

Mountain Valley Treatment Center is the leading residential short-term treatment program in the country for adolescents who struggle with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related disorders. Located in Plainfield, NH, on the Connecticut River, our campus—a former five-star inn—is a warm, comforting, homelike place where adolescents can safely overcome their struggles with anxiety and reengage life. We integrate the latest evidence-based practices, such as ERP, CBT, and ACT, and within our highly structured therapeutic milieu built on the holistic principles of occupational therapy. This highly integrated, comprehensive approach to care helps young people heal, rediscover their themselves, and reengage in their lives with renewed zest and confidence.

Our Senior Clinician works as part of a supportive clinical treatment team that includes a Clinical Director (PhD), psychotherapists, psychiatrist, occupational therapists, residential counselors, and nurses. This supportive, interdisciplinary team approach delivers world class clinical outcomes, and fosters an environment of learning, growth, and professional development.

The Senior Clinician provides clinical services to a caseload of 3-5 residents. Clinical duties include: providing individual, family, and group therapy; developing and revising treatment plans; and providing overall case management and coordination with internal and external treatment ream members. The senior clinician will help ensure that Mountain Valley primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), specifically Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders. In addition to carrying a caseload, the Senior Clinician may assist the Clinical Director with clinical supervision of clinical team, ongoing training of clinical and non-clinical staff, program development initiatives, and other administrative duties and responsibilities within the clinical department. The Senior Clinician serves as the first amongst equals in the clinical department and act as and acts as a mentor to less senior direct care staff across the program.

Qualifications

The Senior Clinician requires at a minimum a Master’s degree and must hold or be eligible to gain licensure in New Hampshire with eligibility to provide clinical supervision. At minimum five years’ experience in the field required with supervision experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge, experience and passion for working with adolescents is required. Experience treating anxiety and related disorders is required. Experience with family therapy highly preferred. Experience implementing treatment modalities such as CBT, ERP, ACT, and DBT are preferred. Experience working in a residential setting is preferred.

Residential Counselor/Activity Therapy Module Leader

Located in Plainfield, NH, Mountain Valley is a non-profit, specialized short-term residential and assessment program for adolescents struggling with debilitating OCD, anxiety and related disorders. We are looking for full-time Residential Counselors (multiple positions) to be a part of our Residential and Activity team. A private pay, parent-choice residential program, Mountain Valley offers a relaxed yet professional environment in the beautiful Upper Valley Region of NH. We are looking for high-energy individuals who can support our diverse and interesting adolescent population from around the globe with experiential, holistic programming such as: therapeutic recreation, yoga, gardening, farm to table activities, art, and community service. Responsibilities also include providing support to the clinical staff with the implementation of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy assignments and group therapy.

Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 credits in the areas of human services or 2 years of professional direct child care responsibilities (includes teaching) or seven years of parenting experience or demonstrated experience working with adolescents. Overnight Residential Counselor

Mountain Valley Treatment Center is a specialized, intentionally small, short-term residential treatment center for adolescents who have debilitating OCD, anxiety and related disorders.

Our client population typically presents with school avoidance, socially isolating behaviors and has withdrawn from the family. We provide a holistic approach to treatment with an evidenced based foundation using Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy and a unique blend of experiential modules including mindfulness, farm to table, adventure, community service, academics and fitness.

We are looking for professional and caring individuals who can stay awake and maintain a safe and supportive environment throughout the overnight hours in the residential dormitories. Responsibilities also include supporting residents with their morning and evening routines, medication administration, maintaining dorm cleanliness, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Additionally, preparing the breakfast meal per the approved menu and coordinating a smooth transition with the day staff each morning and evening is required. Overnight Residential Counselors will enjoy learning and collaborating with the rest of our highly skilled and dynamic residential and clinical teams. This is a great opportunity to grow and gain valuable training within the human services field. Residential Counselor Internship

Our summer internship program is an opportunity for undergraduate students to work as members of our residential team as a residential counselor. Residential counselors are the primary care givers in our program who are responsible for supporting resident’ daily living (sleep, nutrition, exercise, etc.), facilitating their therapeutic activities, and helping residents achieve in their therapeutic goals by integrating clinical modalities into their daily lives. As a residential counselor, you will be fully immersed in the daily milieu experience. you can expect to learn about the clinical treatment of anxiety and OCD, develop clinical skills to apply in real-world situations, and experience firsthand what it is like to change the lives of youth suffering from mental health challenges.

Housekeeper

Mountain Valley seeks a full-time Housekeeper to join our dynamic team. The Housekeeper will assist in daily housekeeping throughout our residential campus. We desire a motivated team player who can also work independently. The Housekeeper is a member of the Facilities team, ensuring a clean, orderly and professional appearance of assigned facilities and areas.

Specific Responsibilities

Responsible for facilities cleaning, includes but not limited to:

  • Physical plant cleaning of all property including cleaning with special attention to heath and safety issues.
  • Responsible for keeping all cleaning equipment in working order, either by repair or arranging repair through the Director of Business & Plant Operations (DBPO).
  • Work with both the Chef and the DBPO to ensure all supplies are in stock needed.
  • Keep all bathrooms and accessible storage units stocked with supplies.
  • Identifying and reporting maintenance or repair items such as burned-out lightbulb, broken windows, etc.
  • Follow Universal Precautions and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) as the task requires.
  • Ability to work around and in areas occupied by adolescent and young adult residents, demonstrating appropriate boundaries and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by DBPO.

Schedule 

Monday-Friday. No weekends! 8am-4pm.

Qualifications 

Highschool diploma or GED required. The employee must be able to perform each essential duty. Must be able to work independently and efficiently to produce high quality results. The position requires the ability to complete each job to high standards of cleanliness and orderliness. Previous facilities cleaning/maintenance experience preferred.
