EDUCATION

Gary joined Mountain Valley after a career dedicated to service, leadership, and helping others build greater independence and confidence in their lives. Before entering the human services field, Gary served for 15 years in the United States Marine Corps as an Ammunition Technician Specialist. Following his military service, he returned to Long Island to help care for his mother before beginning a career supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Over the years, Gary held a variety of roles including community rehabilitation specialist, respite provider, job coach, compliance coordinator, and assistant residential manager. Throughout these positions, he found particular fulfillment in helping individuals develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate daily life more independently. His experience working one-on-one with people to build practical skills and achieve personal goals reinforced his belief that everyone is capable of growth when given the right support.

What drew Gary to Mountain Valley was the opportunity to help young people gain greater autonomy and move toward the lives they want to live. He was especially inspired by Mountain Valley’s focus on empowering residents to face challenges, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to engage more fully with the world around them. Helping others discover their own strength and independence has been a consistent theme throughout Gary’s career and remains one of the most rewarding aspects of his work.

Outside of Mountain Valley, Gary enjoys nature photography, hiking, and exploring the outdoors throughout New England. He also enjoys streaming video games online, caring for his many houseplants, and spending time with his cats and bearded dragon.
