Zachary Schafer, MS, OTR/L

Zack is an occupational therapist (OT) who specializes in helping individuals overcome mental health challenges so they can lead meaningful, engaged lives. He earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Sacred Heart University (SHU) in 2015, received his master’s in occupational therapy from SHU in 2018, and then continued his post-professional education by enrolling in the University of North Carolina (UNC) Chapel Hill’s OT Mental Health Fellowship program. During his time at UNC, Zack published clinical research, taught at the university, and provided clinical care across UNC Hospital’s inpatient psychiatry units.

As an OT, Zack is passionate about how engagement in meaningful daily activities can facilitate growth and overall well-being. Seeking a more holistic treatment environment and excited to expand the role of OT in mental health care, Zack joined the Mountain Valley team in 2021 as the program’s first-ever occupational therapist. Since then, he has received intensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy and has held various leadership roles focused on enhancing Mountain Valley’s direct care and therapeutic programming. In the summer of 2024, Zack was appointed executive director, overseeing all aspects of the program’s day-to-day operations.

Originally a Massachusetts native, Zack now lives in Lebanon, NH, with his wife Kevi and their son, Micah. Zack and Kevi are both occupational therapists who fell in love while working together at UNC, helping others heal. A former collegiate athlete, Zack enjoys pushing his physical limits through yoga, hiking, running, and weight training. When he isn’t buzzing about, he enjoys reading, reflecting, and spending time in nature.

Greg Hitchcock, MEd

As a member of Mountain Valley’s Consulting Team, Greg Hitchcock brings over 25 years of leadership experience in behavioral healthcare, mental health, and addiction treatment. His roles as founder, executive director, chief marketing officer, and owner have given him a deep understanding of program development and operations. Greg’s expertise in guiding organizations from vision to execution aligns with Mountain Valley’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, compassion, and transparency.

A nationally recognized consultant, Greg has helped therapeutic programs enhance quality of care, increase enrollments, and develop strong leadership. His work includes launching programs in Honduras and Russia, presenting at national conferences, and advising on innovative strategies to support clients and families.

Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in literature and adventure recreation from Houghton College and a master’s degree in education and counseling from the University of Redlands. His blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience fosters a thoughtful, client-centered approach that strengthens Mountain Valley’s culture of excellence and trust.

Outside of his work, Greg enjoys boating, backpacking, and skiing with his wife, Charlene, and their children. An avid mountaineer and fly-fisherman, he finds inspiration in the outdoors—a passion that complements his dedication to transformative care.

Everett Logan, MA, GC

Everett’s entire career has been dedicated to supporting adolescents and emerging adults. He began his professional journey as a teacher, coach, and dorm parent in a boarding school, which provided him with the opportunity to witness the profound impact that the residential education model can have on young people. After transitioning into school leadership positions, Everett shifted his focus to school counseling. Over the past fifteen years, he has directly supported young people as a consultant, mentor, coach, case manager, family worker, and director of two different residential programs.

Over his many years at Mountain Valley, Everett has held a number of roles, including Program Director, Director of Enrollment Management, Executive Director, and Chief of Operations. In his current role as Director of External Affairs, Everett gets to focus on his greatest professional passion—connecting more people to Mountain Valley and sharing the program’s incredible treatment opportunity. Everett loves to get out and about engaging with referral sources and prospective families, and nurturing Mountain Valley’s vibrant network of alumni and their families.

Everett lives in Vermont, where he enjoys sports, exploring the outdoors, cooking, photography, travel, and spending time with his three young adult children.

Dr. Alison LaFollette, PhD

Alison earned her doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Kansas. She completed her internship at the University of Utah Counseling Center and her post-doctoral hours at Huntsman Mental Health Institute (formerly University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute). Alison completed her Master of Arts in Counseling at Marquette University and her Bachelor of Arts in psychology at Truman State University. Alison has worked in community mental health, college counseling, Veteran’s Administration, and private practice. She is a former professor in the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Westminster University. Alison has a decade of experience completing comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations with adolescents and young adults.

Alison joined Mountain Valley as Clinical Director in 2024. She appreciates Mountain Valley’s ability to help residents take committed action in accordance with their values. Alison is happy to work alongside an excellent team of clinicians and staff to further the development of the clinical program at MVTC.

Alison enjoys spending time with her wife and son. In their free time, you can find Alison and her family camping, stand-up paddleboarding, biking, and hiking. She loves to travel, particularly to experience new cultures, foods, and natural beauty.

Nathan Thoele

With a B.A in Environmental Studies, Nathan graduated from Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona, in 2014. Shortly thereafter he moved to Vermont and ever since has worked as a land steward, a youth mentor, an environmental educator, and an animal trainer. Additionally, he has served his local community by volunteering his time for restorative justice, animal rescue, and community dinners in the Upper Valley. Through all this work, he has discovered in himself an inherent desire to listen, be it to the land, the birds, or to the people around him. At Mountain Valley, he intends to use that desire to help the residents find validation, peace, and power.

Cody Nance

Cody grew up in Texas and Florida before attending University of Missouri, graduating with a Bachelor of General Studies and a minor in Multicultural Studies. After having worked in security, dog training, and Child Protective Services, Cody is proud to be helping residents find success at Mountain Valley.

In his spare time, Cody enjoys reading, biking and going to movies as well as spending time with his wife, Shea, and Wendy, his dog.

Shawn Courtemanche

Shawn has worked for over 30 years in healthcare.  His primary focus has been Facilities Management. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Keene State College in 1990. Since then, he has taken many courses in Safety from the Safety Council of NH and Project Management from Villanova University. He is also a Certified Aging in Place Specialist.

As a resident of Plainfield NH, Shawn grew up not far from the Mountain Valley property and feels like he has a connection to the campus. He is particularly fond of the wildlife that visits the property often. Shawn enjoys the diversity of the position, focusing on ways to be fiscally responsible, sharing his experiences in management as well as keeping the Mountain Valley community safe and campus beautiful.

Shawn enjoys the outdoors, sports, and spending time with his family.  He also enjoys youth coaching. Prior to his daughter and son being born he spent several years as a youth bowling coach and more recently coaching both kids’ hockey programs at Twin Valley Hockey Association.  His hobbies include:  woodworking, bowling, photography, boating on Lake Sunapee and maple sugaring.

Will Laughlin, MA

Will brings over thirty years of mental health and educational leadership experience to Mountain Valley, having served as the president of an international university with campuses in Tokyo and Osaka, the head of school and CEO for therapeutic boarding schools in North Carolina and New Hampshire, and the executive director of education for a group of five therapeutic schools in Idaho and California.  He has founded and co-founded several companies, including a branding consultancy, a surf-themed international school in Costa Rica, and an international expedition-learning non-profit. Will’s work at Mountain Valley is an extension of his role as managing partner for Iron Mountain Visions, an incubation and management company for mental health and wellness ventures.

“It’s hard to imagine a more relevant mental-health mission today than addressing the youth anxiety epidemic,” says Will.  “Mountain Valley engages this challenge with such expertise; I’m proud to be part of its evolution and growth.”

A fifth-generation native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Will stayed close to home for his education, earning degrees from U.C. Berkeley and Stanford University. Will’s wife, Beth Laughlin, is a fellow Stanford graduate and the founder/owner of 360 Transitions, a therapeutic aftercare provider for young people who have recently completed residential treatment.  A former world-class athlete herself, Beth enjoys helping Will plan and execute his ultra-distance running adventures, which include record-setting runs across Costa Rica, Death Valley, and the Rocky Mountains. Having lived and adventured throughout the US and abroad, Will and Beth are happily settled in New Hampshire with their son Colton and his big brother, Liam the Dog.

Becca Winant

Becca has been with Mountain Valley since 2016 and has held many roles including Wellness & Yoga Teacher and Residential Supervisor before being named Admissions Manager in April 2022. Becca has dedicated her life to education, the practice of health and wellness, and working with teens. She began this journey at Plymouth State University, where she graduated with a B.S. in Health Education/Promotion and is continually seeking training and certifications within her field. Becca also has a strong passion for Yoga and received her YTT 200 certification in 2015 and has been teaching classes in her community ever since.

Becca has made her home in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where she enjoys spending her free time outdoors, especially with her husky, Mike. Her favorite activities include hiking, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and fly fishing.

Dr. Michael “Misiu” Przydzielski, MD

Dr. Michael “Misiu” Przydzielski was born in Krakow, Poland. He immigrated to Ottawa, Canada in his childhood and then to Seattle, Washington for the start of High School. He earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Seattle University, with an interest in Philosophy. He remained in Seattle to attend the University of Washington School of Medicine. In 2007 he moved to the Upper Valley with his wife and one-year-old son, where he completed a residency in Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He is Board Certified in both Adult Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has been practicing in New Hampshire and Vermont for over a decade in various settings. He treats children and adolescents in Community Mental Health Clinics at West Central Behavioral Health, and is a consultant to Crotched Mountain School, and the public school systems. In addition, he practices in various regional hospital treating Psychiatric patients, and consulting to Emergency Departments and medical units.

Dr. Przydzielski currently is happy to call Hanover, NH home with his wife, four kids, golden doodle, bunny, and chickens. He likes to spend time with his family exploring nature, gardening, fishing, playing hockey, and guitar in a band.
