After earning his bachelor’s degree from The State University of New York at Potsdam, Nick embarked on a career journey that reflects his dedication to helping adolescents harness their resilience and acquire skills to navigate life’s hurdles. For over two years, he served as a wilderness therapy field guide, honing his passion for aiding young individuals in overcoming challenges.
Furthering his commitment, Nick pursued a dual Master’s degree in Social Work and Kinesiology at The University of New Hampshire. Upon graduation, he transitioned to a role at a therapeutic boarding school in New Hampshire, where he further refined his expertise before joining Mountain Valley.
Throughout his career, Nick has focused on supporting adolescents grappling with anxiety, depression, attachment issues, trauma, and other mental health concerns. He adopts a strength-based, client-centered approach in his practice, integrating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Theory.
With a rich professional background spanning experiential education and therapeutic treatment settings, Nick prioritizes integrating students’ experiences with their families, emphasizing holistic care.
Originally from New York, Nick has lived in diverse locales, including New Zealand, Vermont, and Utah. Outside of work, he finds joy in snowboarding, camping, rock climbing, and mountain biking. Nick also cherishes time spent visiting his family in New Orleans.
