About Alix
Alix earned a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University and a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University, earning acceptance into the Phi Alpha Honor Society. As a graduate student, she traveled to Romania where she provided community-based care to vulnerable populations. Alix has completed clinical practicum in multiple settings. She provided direct care in an emergency psychiatric unit within a large hospital system, and supportive counseling and case management for individuals and families fleeing domestic violence in a shelter setting.
Alix is passionate about helping adolescents and young adults overcome obstacles by tapping into their strengths, which is what initially drew her to Mountain Valley. She was enthusiastic about the program’s focus on the outdoors, the therapeutic environment, and its rural location.
Originally from New Jersey, Alix has worked in Alaska and Colorado, ultimately choosing to return to the northeast. She loves hiking and skiing, as well as baking, live music, and spending time with family and friends. Animals have always been an important part of Alix’s life and she strives to blend her love of animals with her practice as a clinician at Mountain Valley.
