Andrea Rothberg, MS, LMFT

Andrea has been practicing behavioral health care in CT, and later in NH, where she was providing therapy at a community mental health center, a Federally Qualified Health Care center (FQHC), Residential Treatment center, and private practice. She initially obtained her license as a Marital and Family Therapist in Connecticut where she was a Senior Clinician for the Residential Program there and the Program Director for the Marital and Family Therapy program at Mountainside Treatment Center, a residential addiction treatment center in Canaan, CT from 2014 through 2020. Andrea completed her master’s in Marital and Family Therapy (MS, MFT) degree in 2011. She has been a licensed mental health provider (LMFT) since 2014. Andrea formerly hosted Family Wellness Workshops at Mountainside where she taught workshops about the neurobiology of addiction and healthy communication for families. She also recently volunteered as a mental health professional for an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study about experiential therapy and childhood trauma, focusing on the use of equine therapy for treating families with trauma.

Andrea was most interested in Mountain Valley as she enjoys the unique structure of residential treatment and greatly values the team component that this offers for individuals in treatment, as well as the clinicians working here. She believes in the benefits of experiential therapy for promoting long lasting change. She also finds the staff at Mountain Valley to be genuinely caring, professional, and truly client centered in their approach to treatment.

Andrea has spent most of her life in Southern New Hampshire and the Seacoast, where she completed her undergraduate and master’s degree. Andrea enjoys hiking, cross country skiing, and spending time with her 3 dogs. She can most often be found caring for her chickens in her spare time at her home in Guild, New Hampshire, where she lives with her husband, Stuart, and her stepson.
